The iPhone 6S might not be released until September if tradition holds true but that doesn’t mean you’ll have to wait that long to get a look at the device. Apple blog 9to5Mac has released photos that purportedly show the outer casing of Apple’s smartphone successor.
The photos show that the iPhone 6S will have a the same rear design as the iPhone 6 and no real noticeable changes on the outside of the device except the slight increase in dimensions in accommodate the almost certain addition of Apple’s new force touch feature. This fact helps shoot down rumors that the 6S was to utilize a dual lens camera system. The rumored darker space gray color to match that of the Apple Watch doesn’t seem to be present in the images although that could very well change at launch.
Even though the outside of the iPhone 6S frame looks like its predecessor the inside sports new mounting locations for it’s components and the improved logic board. 9to5Mac claim these match up with previous information they have received about the internals and help validate the pictures authenticity.
9to5Mac has promised a more in-depth look into the changes to Apple’s new flagship phone under the hood in the coming days so be sure not to miss it.
